Community and Youth

Youth United

When youth have access to sports, they gain more than athletic skills — they build confidence, resilience, leadership, and a strong sense of pride in who they are and where they come from.

Indigeno Travel is proud to support Youth United, a first annual basketball tournament created to bring First Nations youth together through sport, culture, peace, humanity, and friendship.

An invitation was extended to National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak and Chancellor Commanda to help launch this initiative, organized by Fiona Blondin, Dion Traverse, and Indigeno Travel.

With support from Southern Chiefs' Organization (SCO), AMC, and other First Nations partners, Youth United is more than a tournament — it is a bridge for youth to share culture, build relationships, and lead through sport.

Sport, culture and leadership

Youth United brings young people together to compete, to share culture, and to carry what they learn back to their communities.

Why Youth Programs Matter

Youth programs create opportunities for leadership, confidence, teamwork, and community connection.

Through initiatives such as Youth United, young people can come together through shared experiences that encourage growth, friendship, and personal development.
